The Project Production Institute (PPI), in partnership with Stanford’s CIFE program, jointly delivered the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) certificate program in 2017. VDC programs were completed in Stockholm, Singapore, Oslo, Copenhagen and on the Stanford campus at the Center for Integrated Facility Engineering (CIFE).
The PPI – VDC partnership began in 2008 and typically delivers ten programs annually. Each program consists of a weeklong course, followed by a series of monthly reports and check-ins with students to document their work implementing VDC on their projects. The program is deemed complete with a final Integration Experience that serves as a final report and a roadmap for enterprise implementation within their firms.
Last year, more than 250 industry professionals globally participated in the program. Project Production Management (PPM) principles form an integral component of the VDC certification program and this combined course is internationally recognized as the premier program of its kind.
PPI researches and disseminates knowledge related to the application of operations science for the optimization of complex and critical energy, industrial and civil infrastructure projects.
