Mike has a broad portfolio of experience. He began his career as a laborer, concrete worker, and heavy equipment operator, then worked for 5 years in Venezuela with Reynolds International as a survey party chief, superintendent, and quantity surveyor on the construction of large aluminum smelters.
After finishing his university education, Mike spent 15 years with Bechtel Corporation in various positions including Manager Developing Technologies in San Francisco and 4 years as CIO of the Latin America region, based in Santiago, Chile. Subsequently, he joined Parsons Brinckerhoff and relocated to New York City for 6 years as SVP and Chief Information Officer.
Mike was SVP of Engineering at SunLink, a solar photovoltaic structures startup, where he led the structural engineering and product development teams.
He held an appointment as Consulting Associate Professor at Stanford University for many years where he taught the construction surveying class in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.
Mike earned his B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder and his M.Sc. Degree of Engineering, and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Stanford University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.
