Chris Midgley of S&P Global Platts Joins PPI Industry Council

Chris MidgleyThe Project Production Institute (PPI) is pleased to announce Chris Midgley of S&P Global Platts, has joined its Industry Council. In the role of Global Director of Analytics, Chris is responsible for analysis of global commodities across the full energy supply chain. He brings valuable perspective on the economic impact of major capital projects given his focus on both short and long term trends in the commodities markets, covering gas, power, oil, chemicals, agriculture
and metals.

Most recently, Chris was Chief Economist for Royal Dutch Shell’s Trading and Oil Markets Analysis division responsible for developing long term trends in energy markets working with governments, strategy executives and Directors to prepare for and/or influence the global energy transition to a lower carbon world.

Previously he held Director roles for various shipping and oil-related companies. He began his career as a design and cost engineer with ExxonMobil and is a Chartered
Chemical Engineer.
