PPI announces partnership with the Project Production System Laboratory at U.C. Berkeley, for research and development of Effective Implementation of Work Packaging. PPI Executive Director, Mike Williams, PhD, P.E. states “As project cost and duration continue to increase, owners, operators and EPC’s firms are looking for ways to reverse this trend. One area gaining renewed interest is the concept of work packaging. Though work packaging has been used for decades, owners, operators and EPC firms see this as a means for improving onsite productivity. In order to maximize the potential benefit presented by work packaging, specific elements need to be better understood and further developed. The purpose of this research is to optimize the effectiveness of implementing work packaging.”
PPI works to increase the value Engineering and Construction provides to the economy and society. PPI researches and disseminates knowledge related to the application of Project Production Management (PPM) and technology for the optimization of complex and critical energy, industrial and civil infrastructure projects.
